Softfill is a coloring app made by nutrx labs. This page explains what the app does with your data. The short version: it collects none. There are no accounts, and the app does not collect personal data, show ads or use analytics. Your drawings stay on your device, and in your own iCloud if you choose to turn sync on.
What the app stores, and where
Softfill keeps your drawings, your progress on each one, your finished pieces with their time-lapses, and your settings. All of it is stored on your device.
If you turn on iCloud sync in Settings, the same data is also stored in your personal iCloud account, in a private database that only your devices can read. It syncs between the devices signed in with your Apple Account. nutrx labs cannot see, read or restore it, and it never passes through a server of ours; Apple’s privacy policy and iCloud terms apply to that storage. Turn iCloud sync off and new changes stay on the device only; turning it off deletes nothing. The copy in iCloud is part of your iCloud account, which you manage in the Settings app.
Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on that device.
Purchases
Packs and Softfill Unlimited are sold through Apple’s App Store using Apple’s payment system. The app never sees your payment details, and nutrx labs receives no personal information from a purchase. The app asks the App Store which packs and subscriptions belong to your Apple Account so that it can unlock them, on this device and on a new one.
Reminders
If you turn on the free-drawing reminder, Softfill schedules a notification on your device each morning. It is created on the device, no server is involved, and nothing about it leaves your device. Tapping it opens the day’s drawing. You can turn it off in Softfill’s Settings or in the iOS Settings app.
Sharing
When you share a finished picture or a time-lapse video, the app hands the file to the iOS share sheet and you choose where it goes, for example Photos or Messages. The app itself uploads nothing.
Crash reports
Softfill contains no third-party software development kits and no crash-reporting service. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in the iOS Settings app, Apple may pass us anonymous crash reports from its own system. They contain no personal information, and we use them only to fix bugs.
Children
Softfill is rated 4+ and is made for families: children can color on their own, while anything that costs money or leaves the app waits behind a grown-up check that is asked every time. Because the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either. The Little level shows no prices, has no share buttons and no links out of the app.
This website
This website sets no cookies, loads nothing from third parties, and uses no analytics. It is served by GitHub Pages, whose servers may record visitors’ IP addresses for security reasons as described in GitHub’s privacy statement; nutrx labs does not see or keep that information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because Softfill does not collect personal data, there is normally nothing for us to hand over or erase; your drawings are yours and live only on your devices and in your own iCloud. If you believe we hold anything about you, write to us and we will answer.
Changes
If Softfill’s data practices ever change, this page and the app’s privacy details in the App Store change with them, and the date at the top is updated.
