Frequently asked questions
Which drawings are free?
Softfill comes with free packs to start, and they stay free: there is no trial clock on them. Every paid pack also has one drawing you can try before you unlock it, and each day one more drawing opens for free until midnight.
How do I restore my purchases?
Open any locked pack and tap Restore at the bottom of the unlock sheet, or open Settings in Softfill and tap Restore purchases. Both ask a grown-up first. Make sure the device is signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. Packs and Softfill Unlimited both come back this way, with nothing else to sign in to, because Softfill has no accounts of its own.
How do I cancel or change Softfill Unlimited?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. In Softfill, open Settings and tap Manage subscription. Or open the Settings app on your device, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Softfill. There you can switch between monthly and yearly, or cancel. If you cancel, Unlimited stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
The free trial turns into a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. The App Store shows the exact price for your country before you confirm.
Does Softfill work with Family Sharing?
Softfill Unlimited is shared with everyone in your Family Sharing group, so one subscription covers the whole family’s devices. Single packs are not shared; each Apple Account unlocks its own. If a child’s Apple Account uses Ask to Buy, purchases also wait for your approval on your own device, on top of the grown-up check inside the app.
What is the grown-up check?
Before anything that costs money or leaves the app, Softfill shows a card that asks you to type a three-digit number written out in words, for example “three hundred forty-seven”. Purchases, Settings, Restore and every link out of the app sit behind it. It is asked every time, never remembered, and a wrong answer simply closes the card.
What is different in the Little level?
Little artists is made for ages 3+: big shapes, bright colors, and bigger buttons and swatches. It shows no prices and no offers, has no share buttons and no links out of the app. A locked drawing just says “Ask a grown-up”.
Where do my finished drawings go?
Finished pieces go to the Gallery, with a time-lapse that replays every fill and stroke. From there you can share the picture or the time-lapse video through the share sheet, or recolor the drawing as a fresh copy. Sharing is off for drawings in the Little level unless a grown-up allows it in Settings.
How does iCloud sync work?
With iCloud sync turned on in Settings, your drawings, progress and settings are kept in your own iCloud and appear on every device signed in with the same Apple Account. Nobody else can see them, including us. Turn it off and your art stays on this device only; nothing is deleted. Syncing needs an iCloud account with some free space. If your iCloud storage is full, Softfill says so in Settings and keeps working on the device.
What is the free drawing of the day?
Each day one drawing from a paid pack opens for free until midnight. If you finish it, it stays in your Gallery. If it locks before you are done, your colors are saved, and unlocking its pack lets you finish it. You can turn on a morning reminder in Settings that tells you which drawing is free today.
Does Softfill run on iPhone?
Softfill is designed for iPad first. The iPhone version is on its way, and with iCloud sync your art will follow you between devices.
Which languages does Softfill speak?
English, German, Romanian and Russian. The app follows the language of your device.
